The Swiss pharmacy market would be very different without GaleniCare. The internationally successful company has been focusing on the development, promotion and management of strong pharmacy networks for many years. We have created online shops in German, French and Italian for the pharmacy chains Amavita, Sun Store and Coop Vitality, all of which belong to the GaleniCare Group. The most important challenge was to set up a central location in which the product data can be managed efficiently.
The GaleniCare online shops have been realized with Magento Community Edition 2.x. Magento is used as an e-commerce and content management system. The requirement that data should be updated automatically posed a further challenge. We used the Community Edition 1.7.x by Akeneo as PIM. Product data (such as product identification, price, discounts, etc.) are now automatically imported for our customer once a day by an ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning). In addition, the stock levels for the products are automatically updated twice a day. Incoming orders are, of course, also transmitted automatically to the storage system. Our customer now has an overview of all important information in a user interface and can quickly and easily view the current imported information of the systems through Akeneo's dashboard.
The product data from the PIM are automatically distributed to the shops several times a day. In addition, we integrated functions such as a location-based search feature and the store finder into the customer's website. Site data is automatically retrieved daily from the system (the directories database) and thus always made available to the users at all times.
The product search has been considerably simplified for the customers of the GaleniCare pharmacies. Autocomplete optimally supplements the user input, which means that customers can access the desired products more quickly.
Each of the three GaleniCare pharmacies has its own loyalty program. Even though they use a single PIM and share other features, they can initiate different, stand-alone marketing activities.
Customers' loyalty points are uploaded automatically daily to the conversion system for further processing. The collected points of Coop Vitality are transferred to the transfer system via an interface immediately after ordering. The respective loyalty card can be specified by the customer at the check-out and validated via the transfer system. The marketing team at GaleniCare has the opportunity to manage promotions through the loyalty card.
Our IT experts have created the ideal concept and realized a connected PIM for the online shops of GaleniCare. The administration of the systems has been enormously simplified for our customers by the automatic processes. For customers, the three online shops have become more user-friendly, easy to use and more efficient.
